Description

A plain cylinder of clear glass around an exposed bulb, hung close to the ceiling from a small round canopy. It is the ceiling light equivalent of a good white shirt: simple, well made, and right in almost every room.

The Semi Flush Light for Low Ceilings

Where a pendant would hang in the way, a semi flush fitting keeps the light up and the headroom clear, and this one does it without looking utilitarian. The glass is completely clear, so the bulb becomes the feature: a large filament globe glows inside the cylinder like something in a display case. At 15cm wide and 23cm tall it suits hallways, landings, bathrooms, small bedrooms, kitchens and cloakrooms, and looks best in a line of two or three down a corridor. Match the canopy to the room: brushed brass for warm cream and timber interiors, silver for white rooms and chrome fittings, dark bronze for period homes and deep paint colours. One E27 bulb, not included.

Key Features

  • Clear glass cylinder with the bulb on show.
  • Semi flush: keeps headroom in hallways and low rooms.
  • Round canopy in brass, silver or dark bronze.
  • Dimensions: 15cm wide, 23cm tall, 12cm canopy.
  • Takes one E27 bulb, not included; a filament globe looks best.
  • Ideal for hallways, landings, bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens.

Use It in a Line

Run two or three down a hallway or landing, hang one in a bathroom, cloakroom or small bedroom, or use a pair over a kitchen worktop. Match the finish to the taps, handles and frames in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which rooms does this suit?

What are the dimensions?

What kind of light does it give?
An open, bright light. The clear glass lets the bulb shine through, so the brightness depends on the bulb you choose.
