A smooth dome of amber glass hung close to the ceiling from a slim brass stem and canopy. Switched on, the bulb glows through the tinted glass and warms the whole room a shade; switched off, the glass keeps the colour of a glass of whisky held to the light.

A Low Ceiling Light That Warms the Room

This one earns the space with two materials that most low fittings do without. The glass is a clear amber, so the bulb stays visible and the light takes on a warm tint before it reaches the walls. The stem and canopy are brass, which sits naturally with timber, cream paint, terracotta and dark green. Two sizes: 25cm for a hallway, landing or bathroom, 28cm for a bedroom, kitchen or dining corner. Both are 15cm tall. It takes a standard E27 bulb, and a large clear filament globe looks right inside the dome.
